Whispers

Whispers stir
Further than you know-
They spiral up staircases
And make their marks around the room.

They hang their portraits in
The eyes of children
And make their souls ache
Forever.

Is that your aspiration?
To hurt others?

Because if it is-
You need to do it more courageously.
Scream it till the mirrors break
And the earth crumbles.

If evil's what you're aiming at-
Do it right and with gusto
And the perfect ammunition.

Don't be a hypocrite that keeps everybody guessing.

Be real.
If it's not foreign to you.

Because nothing screams
A cowardice banner
Across the sky
Quiet like whispers do.
